Great Alternatives to Toys for Christmas
Every year about this time I start to see the posts in my online mom’s groups asking about alternatives to toys this Christmas. Some will say they are trying to live a minimalist lifestyle, others will state they have playrooms filled and some are just looking for new ideas to supply grandparents with. I LOVE this idea and think that for whatever reason you have its awesome. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy buying my children toys and seeing the joy they get from them. The reality is that as soon as a new toy is presented the previous one ( by minutes) looses some of its luster. Christmas morning or birthdays for that matter can be very overwhelming for kids in this regard. Last year for my son’s birthday we let him choose a handful of toys from his party to keep out and play with. The rest went into the closet and were brought out slowly. I tell you this is so much more fun for them and you! Getting back to the alternatives to toys for Christmas concept.
