With Mother’s Day just a few days away, husbands everywhere are scrambling with their kids to find or make mom the perfect gift. It’s about this time of year that you start seeing articles about what mom really wants for Mother’s Day. I have 5 great ideas for Mother’s Day that I would love and the best part about it is that everything is inexpensive or free!
#1 An afternoon alone- It’s not that I want to run off and go on a shopping spree, but I would love to take a hot bath, read a book and take a nap without hearing the baby cry or my toddler playing monster truck rally in the living room.
#2 Chocolate- This one is easy, everyone loves chocolate. I am obsessed with . Chocolate Lovers is my fave, but it is available in 18 flavors so you are sure to find one that you love. The best thing about this delicious treat is that all you need is the mix, a little water (or other liquid like coffee or milk) and about 1 minute. There is no messy clean up and that is another gift in itself. Bonus is that you can restock every time you go to your local grocer.
#3 Child’s Art Work- Whether it is a Popsicle stick picture frame or a glittery mess of a picture. Mom’s LOVE a child’s “master pieces”. I personally can not wait for my first popsicle stick picture frame, I plan to save it forever.
#4 Homemade Meal- Dad and the kids prepare a fun meal at home for mom. It can be something easy like pancakes (I love these for any meal) or something the kids love like hot dogs. The real treat is that the kids participated in something special for mom.
#5 Fresh picked Flowers- My little guy loves to pick flowers for me. I get beautiful yellow “flowers” weeds daily. He lights up when he hands them to me and loves to smell them with me. a fresh boutique of flowers either from the store or the front yard.
No matter what you are presented with this Mother’s Day I hope it is wonderful!
