Last week I had the opportunity to do something new. I was handed the keys to a new car to drive for 1 week and see what I thought about it. Well, I loved it and honestly I’m sad that it’s gone. Don’t worry, I’m already working on my birthday wishlist. I’m a SUV girl all the way, I have always loved big giant SUVs, guess it’s a Texas thing. Before this week a smaller SUV had never crossed my mind. It was pretty much love at first sight and here are 5 reasons the Kia Sorento is awesome.
We had so much fun packing in the Kia Sorento and fitting the open road on Christmas Eve. We meet some friends in Johnson City to take in the amazing Christmas lights. JDub enjoyed a little DVD video on his player while we drove and the husband and I enjoyed the time to visit and take in the comfort of this awesome car.
Space
While the car is a lower profile that I was use to the space was amazing. With 3 rows of seats and a nice sized cargo area we were able to pack in and travel comfortably for a short road trip on Christmas eve. For post Christmas deal shopping I folded the 3rd row on seats down with the click of a button and had tons of room for all my shopping bags!
Bluetooth, Keyless start, Back-up camera and Navigation System
Four amazing features that made my life not only easier but safer. Bluetooth connection for my phone allowed me to handle calls while driving and be hands free (which is a law in Austin). Keyless start allowed me to get going without digging the key out of the bottom of the diaper bag where everything sinks to these days. The navigation system was a breeze, so easy to program and loved that it showed any accidents or issue along the route. The back-up camera was so helpful when trying to park in tight spots.
Interior lights
I noticed immediately when I was walking to the car the other evening that when i hit the unlock button all of the interior lights came on and I was able to see the entire interior of the car. What an amazing safety feature!
Kid Friendly
I know this isn’t always a feature that everyone cares about, but as a mom there are a few things that make out life easier. Performance leather seats, easy to wipe up spills! Built in sun shades on rear windows. We live in Texas and the sun shines year round, these were a major love for me. Wait for it, wait for it…. 2 sets of anchors in the back seat for super easy car seat installation!
Sunroof
Any time we’ve ever looked at a new car I always try and talk my way into one with a sunroof. The 20 year old me loved sunroofs. I’ve had several cars with them and I always miss them when I have a car without it. We the Kia Sorento doesn’t have just any sunroof. It has a full roof sunroof. Your passengers in the backseat with get to enjoy it as much as you do. My little guy is still rear facing in his car seat and he spotted an airplane through the sunroof!
