Meal planning seems to be catching on and it’s great because when you plan what you are going to eat, and you have it ready when you are hungry, you are more likely to eat healthy! The Mister has been preaching this to me for years. Here are a few tips to make meal planning easy.
#1 Spend time each week looking for recipes
I like to have real meals and not just snacks. by searching for recipes I like and my family likes I am able to plan for meals that everyone will eat and enjoy.
#2 Choose a shopping day and make a shopping list
Nothing can throw you off the rails worse than being unprepared. Make sure that you go through your recipes and plan and add everything to your grocery list. You want to be as prepped as you can when its time to start the week.
#3 Prep food as soon as you get back from the store
It’s easy to put everything away and just sit down after a long grocery trip. Its important for freshness and your success that you get produce washed and cut and ready when you get home from the store.
#4 Prep using what works for you
I like having the same type of containers for each day. The Reynolds™ Disposable Heat & Eat containers are safe for my food and easy to use, are a great alternative to plastic, perfect for the microwave and are disposable so no need to clean. Find these Reynolds™ Disposable Heat & Eat Containers at your local Walmart store in the food storage aisle, coupons are HERE and HERE
#5 Change it up
Use a theme, make a special birthday meal, change it up so that meals are still fun while you are working hard to succeed.
