Last weekend we made the trip to Round Top, Texas to spend the day junking and looking for crafting projects. This was the first year I had adventured out into the 36 miles of field after field and barn after barn or antiques, junk and tons of goodies. We had a few things on our list that we we’re looking for and I can’t wait to show you a few new projects. The big success of the day was surviving with a kiddo. I thought I would share a few tips for a successfyul day of junking with kids.
#1 Baby Carriers or Wagons: My little guy won’t sit in a stroller for more than a few miuntes so we used it more for piling purchases on. Knowing this I brought the baby carrier along and wore the little man for the majority of the day. It was a great workout for me and little guys was pretty happy too.
#2 Sunscreen and Sun protection: I feel like the success of our day boiled down to one big thing, no one went home with a sunburn.
#3 Hydration and Snacks: We packed our own water bottles and LOTS of snacks. That way I knew that little man was totally happy and I wasn’t tracking down over priced foods that he would like. Lots of water kept us all happy.
#4 Have a Game Plan: We mapped out the areas that we really wanted to check out and had a game plan on what we wanted for lunch as well as when we wanted to head home for day.
#5 Take Breaks: My little guy loves being outside, so we took several breaks where he got to play in the grass and crawl around exploring.
I was incredibly sore so I’m ordering up a back rub from The Mister to help my poor shoulders relax. I even got to use this fancy new body rub cream from Moon Valley Organics that I got the other day, so I think I’ll survive. Happy Junking!
