If you’ve followed us for some time you know that we love to adventure. We’ve slowed down some with my pregnancy and now a newborn but you just never know when you are going to have the itch to plan a quick trip and just go! We figured that Baby John would need a passport sooner or later so we had better go ahead and get it so that we were ready for anything. Now our friend Jamie over at C.R.A.F.T. just took her 9 week old to the Dominican Republic this Summer, so she was current on getting baby’s first passport. So who better than a pro to help me capture the ever difficult baby passport photo.
Now Jamie has all the details on her post about the process of getting baby a passport for baby. Mainly I just want to share the great photo taking experience with you. Above are the outtakes from our first attempt with Jamie. It is definitely a two person job like she suggests. I love the last picture where he is actually smiling but sadly couldn’t use it because you can’t see both of his ears, which is one of the requirements for the photo. Below is take 2, where I tried again at home by myself. As you can see it’s no easy task.
I will tell you that when I took my phone into Walgreen’s to have the photo printed the clerk informed me that he was unable to use my photo and had to take it himself. I told him to have at it, knowing it was going to be an experience for him. After 10 minutes and no success he printed the photo off of my phone for me. Now it’s just time to go stand in line at the passport office and get everything sent in so we can plan our next adventure!

An adventure like OKINAWA maybe? *hint hint*
I can’t imagine what it must have been like trying to get a baby picture for a passport. I guess I never thought about babies having passports, but Gene had one as a kid, as they traveled back and forth to and from France to visit his mom’s family! I can’t wait to see the stamps your little man collects 😀
