Diaper Bag Cold Season Emergency Kit

Not only am I a mom, but I’m also a nurse. I’ve been a Registered Nurse working in Pediatrics for 10 years now. I truly understand the yuck that comes with cough & cold season. Not only are the waiting rooms packed with ill feeling little ones, people everywhere seem to be coughing and sneezing! Nothing makes me cringe more than waiting in line at the grocery store and someone is coughing right behind me. I also immediately staring saying, please don’t get sick, over and over in my head as if that is going to help. Well, My wishful thinking may not keep us well but there are a few things I like to keep on hand to keep us well during these cold months when illness is rampant. That’s why I love my Cold Season Emergency Kit.

I keep a Cold Season Emergency Kit in my diaper bag. Since the diaper bag goes everywhere with us it’s the perfect place to stash our go to items for this time of year. I like to keep my diaper bag organized and find that the best way to do that it to have things sorted into separate bags. I just purchased a new diaper bag and it’s bigger and has even more compartments! I actually like it so much I bought a 2nd one to use as my computer/work bag!

To make your Cold Season Emergency Kit you are going to want a few key items. Start with a small bag that is easy to organize and will fit in your diaper bag. Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes are very important, not only are they perfect for wiping down shopping carts, they are the best for cleaning sticky little hands. They kill 99.99% of bacteria which means less germs and less illness. I also like to keep a few throat lozenges on hand just in case, facial tissues for wiping noses, vitamin C packets for myself and lip balm for dry and chapped lips and of course a bottle of hand sanitizer.

Since we spend a lot of time in the car and I don’t want to deplete my emergency kit, I keep a larger container of Wet Ones handy for easy clean up.

I also cringe when people openly cough and sneeze in public! What a cute and handy cold & cough emergency kit, I’ll have to make my own to keep in my purse! #client
