DIY Essential Oil Household Cleaner Housewarming Gift
Over the past few years essential oils have become a part of our daily lives. I wouldn’t say that I use them for everything but I have a handful of go to oils that I love and use every chance I can get. I promise to share more about those later. Today I am putting together a sweet and simple gift to take to a housewarming party this weekend. My sweet friend, my first friend in Austin just settled into her new home with her family and shes having a party this weekend to show off her beautiful new space! I’ve been wanting to sneak over for a few weeks now but the craziness of life hasn’t allowed the trek North before now.
I wanted to give her something useful, creative and a little handmade. She is also a creative mind and I knew she would appreciate the gesture. So I thought I would share my love for essential oils with her by giving her some of the amazing Thieves Cleaner by Young Living essential oils (I promise I won’t try and sell you oils, unless you message me asking me to.)
Here is what you are going to need to put this adorable DIY housewarming gift together.
Ribbon of choice – I have about 5 different black and white stripe ribbons I keep on hand as my go to.
Colander or mixing bowl – I snagged this adorable white medium size colander at Home Goods but you can find a similar one here.
10 oz Amber glass spray bottle
Dish Towel of your choosing – I found mine at Hobby Lobby, you can find similar here.
Dish Brush and Bamboo Dish Scraper
2 cap fulls of Thieves Cleaner
First thing you are going to need to do is clean your spray bottle with rubbing alcohol or witch hazel and allow to air dry. After a few minutes and bottle was completely dry, I followed the directions that came with my vinyl decal to apply it.
Her directions do state that if you are working with oils its recommended to let your decal rest for 24 hours before coming in contact with them, so you want to be extra careful with the next steps. I filled the bottle with 2 cap fulls of Thieves cleaner and then filled the remaining 3/4 of the bottle with water. Leaving room to allow the mixture to be shaken for remixing before use.
After you are done mixing your Thieves Cleaner the rest is just working to arrange you items the way you want them. I laid my dish towel out first and then placed the spray bottle in the colander and the dish brush and scraper next to it. I picked a wider striped ribbon and looped around the entire package and finished off with a big bow leaving the tails long.
