Last week a friend of mine sent me a text, I could practically feel the excitement buzzing from her as I read it. As a mom with small children, my husband and I are the ones documenting our lives and adventures. With her kids being older, they would be able to document it from their own perspective. It got me thinking, how fun would it be to put together a kid’s travel journal kit that could be taken on a big trip and they would have everything they needed to record there memories right then. No waiting until they got home to print pictures (do people still do that) and slap in a scrapbook, then try to remember that funny story you wanted to write down about that moment.
I figured a kid’s travel journal kit would need to have some essentials that would travel easy and would have no problem being thrown in a backpack for a day trip or bike ride, you name it! Here is everything you need to get started and a few of my FAVORITE products.

OOLY Yummy Yummy Scented Glitter Gel Pens: This is a favorite for any age if you ask me. Set of 12 gel pens, glittery gel ink and fun fruity scents.

Washi Tape: I chose a cute travel themed set for my kit with vintage globes, a travel saying a complimenting pattern. I planned to use this to adhere the photos and momentos into the journal.
Fujifilm Instax Mini Instant Camera: This easy to use camera will have your kids snapping away at everything around them. The photos eject immediately after taking them and are ready to view within a minute or two. They are wallet size prints that will be perfect to tape into their journals to document the adventures.
Fujifilm Instax Mini Instant Camera Film Refills: Depending on the length of your trip I recommend packing lots of film refills. Your Kid’s Travel Journal Kit will be able to hold 1 additional refill. If you remove from the packaging you might be able to fit two into your kit.
