Now that school is back in session and things are starting to settle into a routine. We are finding our way to getting everything done in the day. I feel like we spend so much time in the car running between gymnastics, errands, swim lessons and bible study. Sadly most easy kid snacks that are easy for on the go aren’t always that good for you. They tend to be carbs full of empty calories. I decided to make up some delicious and super easy kid snacks that are easy for in the car or on the go.
A few of our family favorites are delicious cheeses and yummy fruit. I went with the little guys preferred fruits, of grapes, blueberries and strawberries. I chose to use my favorite cheese. Creamy Havarti, I picked up a package of Havarti with dill too. Yum!
Since I am putting these snacks in the hands of a toddler, I don’t want to use anything unsafe, so simple plastic straws are perfect for making our kabobs. Cut them in half for the perfect toddler size.
Slice your cheese into small bite size pieces as well as your fruit. Blueberries are the perfect size already and don’t need to be cut.
Thread your fruit onto the straws to make your kabobs. You can make lots of different combo for more cheese or a specific fruit choice.
The half straws are perfect for fitting your snacks in a sandwich size storage container. Now you are ready to hit the road for the day and have delicious and easy snacks that everyone will love.
We didn’t even make it out of the house before we had to test out these tasty snacks! They were a big hit.
I ♥ cheese — it’s the absolute best. However, I’m a huge fan of gouda.
I like the chipotle flavor. I hope to win. 🙂

So creative! I love how you used straws instead of sticks…definitely smart! The snacks look delicious! Thanks so much for sharing at Share The Wealth Sunday!
