With two little ones we are on the go a lot these days. Preschool for big brother, swim lessons for both kids, farm school, library dates, not to mention errands and play dates. I had to figures out a few ways to stay organized and make things a little easier on myself. Keeping an organized diaper bag is huge. I like to keep lots of little pouches, each one categorized so I know right where things are. No dumping out my entire bag to find something. One item that I feel like I can never have enough of is snacks!
Did you know that 25 % of babies nutrition comes from snacks? I mean, I knew my kids ate a lot of snacks, but I figured they really got their nutritional needs from their meals and snacking was kind of an extra. This really opened my eyes to thinking about what kind of snacks I am giving my kids each day.
For my older son who is almost 4, I pack things like raisins, goldfish crackers, berries, fruit snacks, and yogurt pouches. The baby (well she did turn 1 yesterday) is a little bit of a different story. She barely has 4 teeth so she isn’t ready to eat everything that big brother is noshing on, even though she totally wants to and tries to swipe his food regularly. For her I focus more on items like GERBER® LIL’ CRUNCHIES® (Apple Sweet Potato is her fave, but I love Vanilla Maple), GERBER® Puffs, again with the sweet potato and banana as favorites and the biggest hit is GERBER® GRADUATES® YOGURT MELTS® in Banana Vanilla.
