I learned with JDub that no matter how cute the nursery is, when the reach a certain age everything is on their terms and that precious bedding you thought would last through the toddlers years now is Paw Patrol. You would think that this go around I would stick with cute colors that would be easy to incorporate a cartoon character into in a few years but that’s not the case at all, again. I don’t know what brought it on, I was at Hobby Lobby one day and walking through the fabric aisles when I spotted the cutest coral and pink flamingo fabric i have ever seen. It was set, I went home and told the mister that the nursery had to be flamingos. He agreed without much emotion and I started searching pinterest for ideas.
We added a changing table to our nursery this time. Something I was sure we really didn’t need with JDub but we got tired of changing diapers on the floor or in the tiny area on the pack n’ play. It is stocked with soft blankets, diapers and tons of wipes already.
Because JDub just recently moved to a toddler bed we needed a new crib for baby’s arrival. I picked out this amazing Monterey style crib (available at Target) by Simmons Slumbertime. The rustic White finish is perfect as a contrasting piece in the nursery. It took a little longer to put together than our last crib but I love the finished product and am thrilled that it will convert to toddler bed and then a twin when it’s time!
We’re using the same glider we did in the JDub’s room and it matches perfectly with the look I was wanting. Custom flamingo sheets are from Etsy and I will be ordering the skirt and bumper when baby is a little older. We didn’t use a bumper on the bed until 6 months last time.
Artwork and wall decor from Hobby lobby and Flamingo dolls are from various retailers.
