As much as I loved the blue tongue tattoos that fruit roll ups left behind, as an mom I realize those delicious snacks we loved as kids are packed with tons of sugar and preservatives. I’m by far not what you would refer to as crunchy, but I do try and make lots of yummy treats that are tasty and good for you too.
This is the easiest snack and it is so tasty when it’s finished. Strawberries are a favorite at our house so I decided to make this first, more fruit flavors coming for sure.
Add your 3 ingredients into your favorite food processor and puree completely. I use my baby food make as my food processor. You are going to need 4 cuts of fruit, 1 tbsp of sugar and 1 tsp of lemon juice. You can leave the sugar out if you prefer and your fruit leathers will still be delicious.
I used a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, next time I will use a silicon baking mat just for a smoother and easier clean up. Spread the mixture over the area to about a 1/4″ thickness. Bake at 170 degrees or the lowest setting your oven has for 2 hours. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before cutting.
We used small pieces of parchment paper to roll out fruit leathers on and then tied with a piece of bakers twine. Placed them in the fridge and have been enjoying them all week love. A great snack to include in those back to school lunches.
What is your favorite fruit leather flavor?
- 4 cups of clean strawberries with tips cut off
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Add all ingredients into food processor and puree.
- Pour out onto lined cookie sheet and spread to 1/4" thickness
- Bake on 170 for 2 hours
- Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting and serving.

I used to make this often before I toasted my dehydrator. Now I know how to do it in the oven.
