I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Neutrogena. I received samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
We’ve spent almost every day for the past two weeks hanging poolside. The sun is shining, the air is warm, Summer is here and its hot! We’ve always been a family that spends lots of time outside adventuring, and being in the water has been a favorite activity for sure. We love to spend time in the creeks after a hike, looking at the fish in the clear ocean and afternoons splashing in the pool.
I know the one thing that would ruin all our fun would be a sunburn. Especially a sunburn on the little one. It would break my heart for him to be hurting from that. There are a few steps we take to choose skin health and make sure that none of us get sunburned and the fun keeps on coming.
#1 Plan Plan Plan
We like to plan activities for times of the day that the sun isn’t directly overheard and it isn’t as hot. Swimming in the early morning or evening bike rides are perfect for being outside and allow the fun to keep happening.
#2 Cover Up
Wear hats and protective clothing (long sleeves) when you have to be outside during bright times. Bucket hats are great and over your ears and the back of your neck. Plus babies look so cute in them. This little guy is unsure about hats still so I make sure he has lots of shade on him.
#3 Daily Sunscreen
Applying sunscreen daily during the Summer months (and re-applying when you’re swimming) when you know you are going to be outside frequently will help you protect your skin. We choose to protect our skin with Neutrogena® Sun products, they were awarded the National Eczema Association (NEA)Seal of Acceptance on 5 of their products, NEUTROGENA® Pure & Free® Baby Faces Ultra Gentle Sunscreen, NEUTROGENA® Pure & Free® Baby Sunscreen Stick, NEUTROGENA® Pure & Free® Baby Sunscreen Lotion, NEUTORGENA® Sensitive Skin Sunscreen Lotion and NEUTROGENA® Pure & Free™ Liquid Sunscreen. People with eczema and sensitive skin need to take extra care in protecting their skin from the sun. These are a great product to help you choose skin health. You can read tons of reviews on their site about their products, you can even leave a review if you’ve used their products before. #ChooseSkinHealth
Fact: Sunburns in children increase the odds of developing skin cancer later in life.

I hide in the house most of the summer… its just TOO hot in Texas! But when I’m outside, I’ve got at least an SPF 50 on 🙂

I have to soak myself in sunscreen during the summer. I can burn just thinking about the sunshine 🙂
