There was a point in my life that I felt like I had to have a Pinterest perfect home. A big beautiful kitchen, amazing handmade home decor and the play area would be something out of Pottery Barn Kids. Sadly this kept me from many opportunites to enjoy welcoming friends into our home. Now after having a little one, my house constantly looks like a tornado has come through it and there are usually dishes drying in the sink, but I love to invite friends over for playdates.
Our friends don’t care if there are dishes in the sink or if we have a perfectly clean playroom, they enjoy coming over to hang out. So here our my tips for how to host a playdate.
Send out a cute invite, call or use a digital invite: Your friends don’t care! They’re just excited to come over and play!
Pick out all the toys you want out when your guests arrive. Our living serves as a play area too and it can get chaotic really quick. I try and put away some toys so that it is more manageable. We played with some new Bright Starts toys this time and it was awesome.
Make snack time fun and easy! We had a yummy toddler friendly snack mix and some delicious healthy baby bite cookies. No need to get super fancy and small bowls are exactly what these littles love.
Have fun! Everyone will love your playdate so enjoy visiting with your mom friends and watching the kiddos play.
