If you’re like me you feel like your house is over run with toys. It’s so easy for the toys to quickly pile up and before you know if you can’t see the floors in your kids rooms any longer. The idea of this is daunting and it is a bit of a wake up call for me. It has made me be more intentional in the toys that I choose for my kids. instead of a simple toy that will ellicit imaginative play only, we are choosing toys that offer multiple experiences to our kids.
I have always been a big fan of LeapFrog® brand and have several learning toys for John. His LeapFrog® items are a bit advanced for Mary but I always see her looking over his shoulder when he has something out. This is why I am so excited to share the new LeapFrog® LeapBuilders® products with you! We tried out the LeapFrog® LeapBuilders® Fruit Fun Elephant™. Mary loves building toys and this one incorporates so many amazing skills!
As soon as I showed her the box she was ecstatic and ready to start playing. I unpackaged the LeapBuilders® Elephant and let her have at it! She was building her own creation immediately and laughing the entire time. Once I showed her the adorable animal cards that accompanied the toy she asked me to build her the LeapBuilders Elephant and Flamingo.
Here is why I love the LeapBuilders Elephant and wanted to share it with you. While Mary is over the moon playing with her new toy, she is working on 5 great developmental skills! Building toys are perfect for fine motor developement. Did I mention that the Elephant talks, sings and asks questions?! Well that is the other reason this learning toy is amazing. When Mary inserts the double sided learning blocks into the interactive Smart Star™ she hears about various colors and fruits and numbers that are visualized on the blocks. Press the music note button and a variety of educational songs will play that will have your little one dancing around the house. The button labeled with a ? will play various learning phrases or facts about animals.
So by having less toys for better toys we are able to work on fine motor skills, learn numbers, colors and foods. Get those little bodies moving with music and have then interacting with educational questions and facts. What parent wouldn’t be on board with that!
