Since school let out a few months ago we have been embracing our Summer vacation. Some days we chill at home and watch cartoons on amazon and enjoy the AC (its hot in Texas). Other days we get out and get to exploring. So far this Summer we have been to float the river a handful of times. This is a big deal in Texas, I was in college the first time I floated, but now we live right by the rivers and my 3 year old loves to go floating. He’s an adventurous kid and loves to try new things. We have a few more adventures planned for this summer. A few day trips around Austin with friends and a long drive to the grandparents house, the first that we’ve made since baby sister was born.
We’ve made the drive to the grandparents house regularly since moving to Austin 7 years ago. JDub and I make is about half way and then stop, there is an amazing park that we get out and run around at, lots of playscapes to climb on and slides galore. We usually make it a point to stop and get some lunch in this town as well. There aren’t a lot of foods that he will eat and the dining options are few and far between on this cross state drive. Since he is such a picky eater I make it a point to pack a lot of snacks in the car that I know he loves. Carrots, crackers, raisins, Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches and a few other favorites.
This kid can serious eat, I swear I hear, ” I need something to eat” at least 30 times a day! So I want to make sure that the foods that he eats aren’t going to hurt him. At the same time I don’t want a ton of spills or crumbs all over my new mom mobile. That’s why I LOVE Tree Top portable applesauce pouches.
What more can a mom ask for? So pack up the kids, make sure you have lots of snacks and go enjoy your summer exploring!
I don’t have kids, but I imagine pouch snacks are an innovation for which many parents are most grateful 😀
