It’s Fall Ya’ll! It so fun to say but the reality of it is its still in the 90s in Texas. We went swimming this past weekend and wore shorts the past few days. I know the cooler days are coming and with that usually brings some fall weather of stormy days. Nothing like being trapped in the house on a stormy day with a kiddo if you’re unprepared. That’s a joke, that sounds like a terrible thing. I have a few indoor activites that I like to keep on hand that are fun for any day but perfect for a bad weather day.
Fort Building
Whether its for pretending to be a house in the woods, or a cozy place to curl up and read books. Forts can be made with a few simple household items like sheets, clothes pins and boxes if you have any of those laying around.
Let the kids get in the kitchen and mix up some of their favorite snacks, no really cooking required but they will feel like mini chefs. We love to mix up items like pretzels, raisins, goldfish crackers and throw in a few marshmallows for fun. This one will yield great big smiles!
Color Jars
In an effort to prepare some preschool activities grandma and I put together color jars. Each jar is filled with fun textured and playful items all of the same color. We only get these out for a specific play time and then put everything back in them and tuck them away for another day. Great for early learners but you can make your items specific to any age group.
Not in the mood for cleaning up finger paint but the kids are ready to get crafty. No mess finger paint is fun for all ages and super easy with no mess to clean up. It’s a favorite rainy day activity for us.
