Football is a pretty big deal in the South. We start the love early with high school ball and then college is where it becomes a part of your existence. Before you know it every Sunday afternoon and the occasional Monday is spent enjoying a game. In college we spent hours every weekend tailgating before the game. Tons of amazing food was consumed and by the time the game started your eaten so much you could barely stay awake! Good thing we were young and full of energy.
Now as a mom of two little ones our tailgating days are over and we’re more about yummy food at home and kicking back on the couch to watch the game, sometimes with friends but happy if it’s just us too! Game Day still means special food, we cook up delicious bites that are easy and quick to make. I personally like to have a lot of appetizer type of foods for snacking on throughout the game.
A few of my favorites are tangy jalapeño poppers and mini baked potato sliders. I wanted to share with you how to make both of these delicious small bites that are perfect for game day. Here’s what you’re gonna need to pick up at the store, I found everything in one trip to Walmart!
Shopping List
Parchment paper
10 large jalapeños
Flavored cream cheese (pineapple is best)
Wright Brand® maple smoked bacon
10 small red potatoes
Shredded cheddar cheese
3 green onions
Small
Sour cream
Tyson® Any’tizers® Snacks Popcorn Chicken
Tangy Jalapeño Poppers
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Start with washing your peppers, I personally like to wear food safe gloves the entire time I work with peppers. Slice peppers long ways and vote out seeds. Scoop flavored cream cheese into center of each pepper and set on plate. Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap each stuffed pepper with half a slice of Wright Brand® smoked maple bacon. Place on parchment paper lined baking sheet and place in oven. Cook for 15-20 minutes until bacon is cooked.
Mini Baked Potato Sliders
Since I don’t want to spend all day in the kitchen I make these two favorites and then add in a few easy to cook options that require NO work from me! Tyson® Any’tizers® snacks are as simple and placing on a baking sheet and putting in the oven! I grabbed the Tyson® Any’tizers® Snacks Popcorn Chicken, but some of their other options include chicken bites and a variety of Wingz flavors. All these delicious foods, along with the big game on makes for a great way to spend some quality time with friends and family!
