We’ve been spending a lot of our days at the pool this Summer. In case you don’t know this, it’s HOT in Texas! Since we can’t eat sno-cones 24/7 the pool offers the next best way to cool off and have fun. Our family recently joined a local gym and I have to say the pool was my main rationale. It’s the perfect temperature, has a fun water feature for littles and a huge water slide if I decide I want to be adventurous for a few minutes (I haven’t tried it yet). Jdub LOVES the pool, he gets excited and starts talking (I have no idea what he’s saying, I still don’t speak baby) and clapping his hands as soon as he sees the water. We’ve also made a few road trips this Summer to local swimming holes. He has loved every minute of it and splashes and kicks around like a little fish.
We are coming up on 1 year of swim lessons with Emler Swim School. I know I’m always talking about how much we love our swim class. If you know us in real life, you know I always recommend it in every mom’s group, play date or Facebook friend who ever asks about swim lessons. JDub can hold his breath for 10 SECONDS!! while he swims under water a few feet. I honestly am amazed and love the look on his face right before he knows he’s about to go under water. He lights up, big smile and squints his eyes. It’s adorable!
For my birthday a few weeks back I had a grande idea. Momma needed a GoPro camera to film JDub’s adventures from his perspective. The Mister was happy to oblige and a few days later I had an awesome GoPro and this accessory for our adventures. We have footage of splash pad play dates but my favorite, swim lessons, where he is going down the slide into the water. He’s always so happy while we’re at class and is starting to be my social with his fellow waterbabies. Here’s a peek of JDub’s swim lesson adventure.
