This week I had the pleasure of working with a dream brand, Lexus. The amazing woman behind Lexus of Austin and Lexus of Lakeway invited me to truly experience the luxury of Lexus. Yes, the car was amazing and I have so many things to tell you about that, but Lexus of Lakeway and Lexus of Austin are more than just the cars. Years ago The Mister and I had a chat, it went something like this…
Me: I hate car things.
Him: What are you talking about?
Me: I don’t want to deal with car things.
Him: What are you talking about?
Me: Every time I go to the dealership for my car I’m treated like a little woman. They seem frustrated explaining things to me and I hate it. It’s busy, dirty and the kids area is icky. I don’t want to do car things any more.
Him: O…Kay.
I’m pretty sure he thinks I am crazy, but he gets it. I don’t enjoy spending time at the busy car dealership while we’re having our cars serviced. I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one out there that feels like this. I love the way that the Lexus of Lakeway is making this experience different. While I was at the dealership last week I enjoyed the easy to access wifi and a drink and snack from their coffee bar. I’m not talking about a carfare of coffee and a Styrofoam cup next to a vending machine. I’m talking about friendly barista making a tasty drink of choice and a homemade granola bar that smelled A-MAZING! Did I mention the beautifully upholstered chairs that were so comfortable it felt more like a 5 star hotel lobby than a car dealership? I took a stroll through the gift shop, yes gift shop and eyed a few things that would make great gifts, cute prints for the wall, baby items and some great cookbooks caught my eye immediately. I probably shouldn’t be allowed to spend too much time in there. So you get it, it was awesome and it has set the bar pretty high for the future.
While we had the Lexus GX this week we decided to do a little summer adventuring. Most of my adventuring revolves around good food, so you’ve been warned. We started with a cruise down to Lockhart for our favorite barbecue, Smitty’s. This also gave me an excuse to drive on the toll and test out that 80 mph speed limit. It was so smooth!
After a delicious dinner we enjoyed some back road cruising and made our way over to the Central Texas Speedway. We’ve lived here for her 6 years and I had no idea this little gem was even here. JDub is currently in love with all things cars, Lightening McQueen and racing, so this seemed like a great idea. We arrived just in time for the races to start and we had a great time. The cars were fast and loud and he was thrilled to be there, so much excitement!
Monday evening is our Homeslice Pizza night, you’ll find us there pretty much every week enjoying a slice or two. This week we were celebrating my birthday a day early so we made sure to stop in at Hopdoppy and share my favorite milk shake, Chocolate Nutella Pretzel. I told you i”m all about good food. While we were right there I wandered in Kendra Scott and treated myself to a new pair of earrings.
We finished out the week with a movie. JDub loved his first movie a few weeks ago. After I heard that Lexus sponsors the Summer Kid’s Camp at the Movies at the Moviehouse & Eatery, we had to have a date! We had pizzas and popcorn while sitting in the big comfy recliners and watching our movie. We made sure to take a cute picture in the photo booth before we left and I was able to have them text to my phone!
Follow that up with a quick birthday date with friends for a sweet treat at Sugar Mama’s Bakery.
It’s been a great week and there have been tons of fun adventures. We drove with the sunroof down, rocked out to KidzBop on XM radio and enjoyed the Summer sun.
