It’s HERE! It’s HERE! Summer is here and it’s time to pack your bags and hit the open road. Whether you are headed for the beach for some swimming, the mountains to hike or to visit grandma, the sun is shining and the open road is calling. We’re packing our Summer essentials so we are for that spontaneous adventure. A few things to remember when you are packing for Summer travels.
#1 Pack light- Choose clothing that is easy (aka wrinkle free) to pack and can be combined in various ways to make the most of your wardrobe of a few pieces.
#2 Buy when you arrive- If you will have access to a local grocery or drug store, consider purchasing small toiletry items when you arrive to save space, weight and time in the security lines.
#3 Bring a foldable extra bag- This will make bringing home souvenirs home much easier than trying to make it all fit into your original suitcase.
Not sure what essentials you should have in your bag this Summer? Here is a complete list of our must haves.
Savvy Traveler’s Wipes-No water, no problem. These wipes are perfect for on the go and there is a wipe for almost everything! Wipe off coffee or red wine residue with the Speak Easy Mouth Wipes or In The Klear for cleaning off glasses or screens. My favorite is the No Sweat Anti-antiperspirant wipes for those days you forgot before you left the house or just need to freshen up.
Foldable bag– great for toting along to an afternoon of shopping or for packing those souvenirs for the trip home.
Headphones– Noise canceling headphones are great for noisy flights, but I love my simple ear buds for their size and easy storage.
Passport Cover– Probably the most important thing you will pack, make sure its easy to find and protected in a cute cover.
Travel Journal– Every trip should be documented, a travel journal is a great way to remember all those special moments. Not into pre-printed journals, grab a moleskine notebook and your favorite pens and design your own journal pages.
Toiletry Bag– Throw your must haves in and make sure you don’t forget your toothbrush. I keep these packed and ready to go, it’s one way to make traveling with a family easier.
Sunglasses– Pick out your best sunnies, I like to grab a cheap $10 pair so I don’t feel bad about loosing them. If you need a prescription pain, EyeMart Express can turn any frame in their store into sunglasses in just a few hours (some exceptions apply of course).
Lip Balm– Your lips need sunscreen too, make sure they stay moist and protected all Summer long.
Hat- Protect your skin, shield your eyes and keep your hair back. Grab a sun hat for the beach or a ball cap for hiking.
Nalgene water bottle– Traveling is a fast way to get dehydrated. Stay on top of your water consumption by having an awesome water bottle with you all the time (my favorite is the On-the-Fly).
Instamax Camera– Tired of all those Iphone pictures you never get printed? Problem solved, this camera will print out your photo right on traditional Polaroid paper.
UnWash Dry Cleanser: Don’t let yesterdays hairstyle keep you from your adventures, great for those long days traveling or early mornings. Leaves hair with volume and no residue, bonus it;s safe for color treated and all textures of hair.
Invisibobble: Comfortable to wear on your wrist, no tangle in your hair and tons of bright colors. You can style your hair for a night out , or throw it up in a pony or top knot while you’re moving and grooving.
Justin’s Peanut Butter Snacks– A travel must is tons of snacks, but snacks don’t have to be junk food. I stock up on Justin’s new snack dippers, as well as delicious peanut butter cups for when I want a sweet treat.
NO-AD Sunscreen– Sunburns are no joke and they can seriously ruin a fun trip. We protect our skin with NO-AD Sunscreen. Bonus they are the the first mass sun care brand to go Paraben-Free and Retinyl Palmitate-Free! Make sure to reapply often for good sun protection.
