I have been compensated by PediaSure for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own. #PediaSure #Sidekicks #ForPickyEaters
We’ve been on the go for almost a month now. We’ve traveled from coast to coast and had a few fun stops in between. Something I’ve learned about traveling with a kiddo is EVERYTHING is off kilter! Lots of different hotel rooms, meeting a lot of new people, tons of fun adventures and a schedule that is pretty much non existent. I do try and make things a little easier by preparing A LOT before we leave and trying to make a few things as normal as possible. Here are a few things I like to do to make traveling with kids a little bit easier.
#1 Plan Ahead: I like to spend plenty of time planning activities, reading reviews and blog posts about the area. Check out local mom bloggers in the area you are traveling to for ideas on what is worth visiting and even better what restaurants are family friendly and which are better for a adult dinner.
#2 Pack activities: I pack a special backpack full of fun activities and a small new toy for our journey. This key when we are flying or for a long car ride. Once we arrive the car rides from place to place usually aren’t too long. If you are doing an epic road trip, consider a educational electronic device. We have a few favorites for sure.
#3 Bring items of comfort from home: Although bulky we bring along a child’s pillow and blanket from home. It gets used on the plane as well as in the hotel each night. JDub still has a lovey so we make sure that it is brought along as well. I would encourage you to make sure your lovey or blankie has a label with your contact info on it. We have lost 2 different loveys on vacations and I’ll tell you they can be hard to track down new.
#4 Visit a local grocery store: I don’t know about you, but when we’re traveling more than a few days I get burned out on eating out. I like to have a few key groceries on hand so I make sure to visit a local market, I love that Wal-marts are pretty much everywhere and they have everything. We like to grab some of our favorite fresh fruits and veggies. I also make sure to grab some of J’s favorite snacks. Since nutritious meals can be a challenge when schedules are off, I make sure to grab Pediasure- Sidekicks as well. The shakes can be great for picky eaters and perfect for on-the-go. Sometimes he has then as part of this meal too or use as a substitute for milk in recipes.
